
He has handled a variety of federal and state matters during the investigative stages, some of which did not result in indictments or formal charges being filed.
He has been recognized by Woodward and White’s, “The Best Lawyers in America”, continually since 1983, the year they began their publication. He has served the New Jersey Supreme Court Criminal Model Charge Committee, as well as the New Jersey Supreme Court Efficiency Committee. He has been chairman of both the Essex County Bar Association- criminal law section, and the New Jersey State Bar Association-criminal law section, as well as a member of both the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a past trustee of the New Jersey Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in which he is still an active member. He has been recognized in New Jersey Monthly magazine's Super Lawyers in 2006, 2008 thru 2011. He is recognized in the field of Criminal Defense for White Collar and Non-White Collar in the 2010 edition of Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-view publication in the legal profession.
He has lectured to various groups, including the New Jersey State Prosecutors Association and various bar associations. He is a past Master of the Seton Hall University School of Law, Inns of Court.
Mr. D’Alessio graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1965, and from Seton Hall University School of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1968. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar, as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in October, 1968, and was admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, and to the United States Supreme Court.
During the period from 1968 to 1974, he served in the United States Army Reserve in the Corps of Engineers and was honorably discharged in 1974.
He was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 15, 1943.
